Uploading files via FTP or SFTP Print

  • 0

To upload files to your hosting you have two options: the panel's File Manager (quick for one-offs) and an FTP/SFTP client on your computer (better for large uploads).

Connection details

  • Host: your domain or the one in the welcome email.
  • User: your cPanel account.
  • Password: same as cPanel (or a dedicated one from cPanel → FTP Accounts).
  • Port: 21 (FTP) or 22 (SFTP, recommended for security).

Clients we recommend

  • FileZilla (Windows, Mac, Linux) — free and reliable.
  • Cyberduck (Mac, Windows) — clean UI.
  • WinSCP (Windows) — solid SFTP support.

Always pick SFTP if you can — it encrypts everything. If the client asks you to accept the server fingerprint the first time, that's expected.

Command-line person? sftp user@yourdomain.com works too.
