Rebooting and managing your VPS from the client area Print

  • 0

You don't need command-line skills for the basic VPS tasks: your client area gives you a control panel with all the essential buttons.

How to reach the panel:

  1. Log in to your client area and open Services → your VPS.
  2. You'll see the server status (on/off), its IP and the management buttons.

Actions you can do yourself:

  • Reboot: a clean restart of the operating system. It's the first thing to try if the VPS is slow or unresponsive.
  • Shut down / Power on: stop the server completely or boot it back up.
  • Console: a view of the server screen right in your browser, handy if you've locked yourself out over SSH.
  • Reinstall: resets the VPS to factory state with the OS you choose. Heads up: this wipes everything on it, so back up first.

A reboot usually takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes. If service is still down afterwards, give it a few more minutes in case the system is still starting up.

Button not responding, or the VPS won't come back? Open a ticket telling us what you tried and when; we'll check the node on our end.
