There are two ways to change your website, and you can mix them freely: asking the assistant in the chat, or using the builder's tools.
Ask the assistant
Write it in your own words and you will see the change applied right away. The preview scrolls to the part that changed and highlights it in orange for a moment, so you do not have to look for it.
Video: asking for a change in chat
- "Add a reviews section with three customer opinions."
- "Switch the colours to green tones and make the copy friendlier."
- "Put the opening hours at the top and add a WhatsApp button."
You can also upload your logo (the "Logo" button) and your own photos, and they will be used instead of stock images.
Changing photos by what appears in them
The assistant actually looks at the photos on your website — both the stock ones and any you uploaded — so you can refer to them by what is in the picture, without having to explain which is which:
- “Change the photos with people in them.”
- “Remove the dark one and put in a brighter photo.”
- “Swap the one of the shop for one of the window display.”
Only the photos that match are touched; the rest stay exactly as they were. If none of them match, it says so and changes nothing. Looking at your photos costs 1 or 2 credits, on top of whatever the change itself costs.
Your photos and your logo
To upload one of your own images, press the “+” below the message box, or drag it into the chat, or paste it with Ctrl+V. The image is sent with your message: you see it in your own chat bubble and it is still there when you come back to the project.
All your images live in the “Images” button. There you can view them full size, upload more — dragging them onto the panel works too —, delete the ones you do not want — we warn you if a photo is already placed on your site, since it would leave a gap — and put one you already uploaded onto the site by pointing at it (more on that below).
The description of your photos
Every photo on your site carries a sentence describing it. You never see it, but it does three important things: it is read out loud by the phone or computer of a blind visitor, it helps Google understand your images, and it is what shows up if a photo fails to load.
They are written automatically when I build your site: I look at each photo and describe what is there (“Mechanic repairing a bicycle wheel in the workshop”). If you swap a lot of photos and want them rewritten, use the “Describe my photos” button in the settings panel, next to SEO.
The builder's tools
They appear as soon as your website exists, split into two groups depending on what they act upon. None of them use credits —except asking for logo proposals, which warns you first— and the ones that change something create a new version, so you can always go back.
Video: the builder's tools
Worth knowing: the builder rearranges the tools to fit your screen width. On a large monitor you see the two groups apart, each tool labelled with its name. As the window narrows the names go first and only the icons stay, and a little narrower still the two groups gather next to your website. And on a phone they all live inside the «Herramientas» (Tools) button, each one with its name and what it does. That is why we call them by name here and not by where they sit: hover over any icon and it will tell you which one it is.
Tools for the page you are looking at
These sit next to the preview, because they act on what you are looking at:
- Edit text: click any text on the site —a heading, a paragraph, a button—, rewrite it and press "Save changes". Perfect for fixing a phone number or a word without spending a request.
- Theme: seven professional colour and typography styles, applied to the whole site instantly, and you can revert.
- Logo: upload yours if you already have one, or ask for six proposals built from your business name. Full details a little further down.
- Images: your photos and logo in a grid, to view them full size, upload more, delete the spare ones and place any of them on your site. Each image tells you whether it is already in use and where.
- Measurements: overlays a grid with numbered rulers on your site and gives you the exact size of everything.
- Mobile or desktop view: draws a phone around your website and shows it at the real size of the device, so you see exactly what a customer sees on their mobile. You can switch between a standard phone and a large one — check the standard one, because that is where a layout that gets too narrow shows up first.
- Domain search: type the name you would like (for example mybusiness.com) and we tell you straight away whether it looks available. The answer opens in its own panel, which is where the useful part fits: if the name is taken, we suggest that same name with other endings (.com, .es, .net, .online and .shop) and tell you which ones look free; and if that domain is already yours, we offer to bring it over to GoServix, with the link to how a domain transfer works, step by step: unlock it where you keep it today, ask for the authorisation code, confirm by email, and how many days it takes. You will find it in three places depending on how wide your window is: on a wide screen, the box in the bar above your website, with its search button —or by pressing Enter—; on a medium window, the globe button in that same bar; and on a phone, inside the «Herramientas» (Tools) button. Until we open the shop no button takes you to the basket: we say so and offer to let you know as soon as we do.
Actions on your whole website
These do not change the design: they do something to the project as a whole.
- History: every version of your website with its date. See how it looked at any point and restore the one you prefer; restoring creates a new version, so nothing is lost.
- SEO and legal pages (settings button): the title and description used by Google and when sharing your site, plus generated legal notice, privacy policy and cookie policy with your business details (a starting point: have them reviewed by your advisor).
- Download: your complete website as a ZIP, instantly, with your photos in a folder and under names that make sense.
- Publish: puts your website online on your hosting. During the beta it is not available to testers: if you do not have hosting with us yet, you will see an invitation to get it instead of publishing.
Each project allows up to 30 chat changes and each generation uses credits from your plan (see the Plan tab). The tools do not count.
If I get it wrong: undo
If a change doesn't convince you, just say "undo", "go back" or "leave it as it was" and your site returns instantly to how it was before that change. It costs no credits and you can chain it: if the mistake came from further back, say "undo again" as many times as you need. Nothing is deleted — every undo is saved as a new version and the previous ones stay in your history.
Logo size
Once your logo is in place, say "make the logo bigger" or "smaller" as often as you like: there are five sizes and it costs no credits either. If you haven't uploaded a logo yet, what grows or shrinks is your business name in the header.
The "Logo" button
It does two things. If you already have a logo, drop it into the box at the top of the panel (SVG, PNG, JPG or WebP) and it goes straight into your header, no credits spent. If you don't have one, press "Propose logos" and it draws six made from your business name and your site's colours: wordmark, monogram with your initials, one with a symbol, a wordmark with a graphic detail, an emblem, and a single initial to use as an icon. Each one is shown large and tiny at the same time, because a logo you can't read when small is no use. These are not illustrated logos (a custom drawing is a different level of graphic design), but they are more than enough to start with a tidy image.
Placing your photos by pointing
In "Images", open one of your photos and press "Place by pointing". The gallery closes, your site goes into pointing mode and you just click the photo you want to replace. Because you point at the spot instead of describing it, there's nothing to guess: it's instant and costs no credits.
Measurements
The "Measurements" button overlays a grid with numbered rulers on your site, and hovering over anything shows its exact size in pixels. Useful for checking proportions before asking for a change. It's only an overlay: it doesn't touch your site and never appears in the published site or in the file you download.
Print-ready logo
When you save a logo, the letters of your name are converted into outlines using your own site's typeface. That means the file looks exactly the same on any computer, whether or not that font is installed, and that you can take it to a print shop (signs, business cards, vinyl).
Earlier messages
The chat opens at the end, with the latest. At the top there's "See earlier messages" to unfold the rest. Nothing is deleted: if at some point you refer back to something from the beginning, I recover what was actually said, not a summary.
What's new, and requesting improvements
In the top bar there's a megaphone with what's new in the builder, explained without jargon. It only flags things you haven't read and never opens by itself. From there you can also request an improvement: it really gets logged, and that list is where each week's changes come from.
