Import your old website's content Print

  • 0

If you already have a website and want a fresh version instead of starting from scratch, just tell the assistant your domain: "renew my website mydomain.com using its content" and it gets to work.

What it actually does

It reads the page you give it plus any pages linked within the same domain, up to a maximum of 8 pages. From there it pulls the text, which it uses as a starting point for your new site, and downloads your photos into your project's images, already compressed and ready to use. It's not a straight copy: the content gets rewritten and reorganised into the new design, the same way it would if you'd told the assistant about your business yourself.

Only your own websites

If your client email shares the domain you want to import, or the domain clearly matches your business, the import goes ahead directly, no questions asked. If there's no way to check it that way, the assistant will ask you to confirm: "it's mine, import it." By confirming, you take responsibility for the content you're providing, just as you would uploading photos by hand from your own computer. Websites belonging to well-known brands that aren't yours are never imported.

Credits

Importing itself doesn't cost credits: reading your website and pulling in text and photos is free. What does use credits, as always, is generating the new website with that content.

It's the fastest way to make the jump if you're already online: instead of starting from a blank page, you start from what you already had, better organised, with polished copy and a new design. And just like any other website in the builder, you can keep asking for changes afterwards, as many as you like.
