A subdomain is an independent section of your main domain, like blog.yourdomain.com or shop.yourdomain.com. They can be used to separate projects, install WordPress in parallel or set up staging environments.
- Sign in to cPanel.
- Look for the Domains section and click Subdomains (or Domains > Create a domain in newer versions).
- Enter the subdomain name (e.g. blog) and pick the main domain.
- The document root fills in automatically (e.g. public_html/blog). Leave it unless you know what you are doing.
- Click Create.
The subdomain will be live within minutes. You can now upload files to its folder or install an app with Softaculous targeting the subdomain.
